Pediatric pulmonology and phthisiology

Pediatric pulmonology (or pneumology) is a medical specialty, the science of the lungs and respiratory system of children. It consists of: pharynx (throat), larynx, trachea (breathing tube) and lungs. The trachea is divided into two main bronchi, through which air reaches the lungs, where oxygen is absorbed by the blood.
