Assoc. Prof. Dr. Georgi Minkov

Dr. Georgi Minkov is a Specialist Surgeon.

• in 2004 was accepted to study medicine at the Medical Faculty of the Thracian University, Stara Zagora.
• After graduating with honors, he started working in the Surgical Department at MHAT "Prof. Dr. Stoyan Kirkovich" AD, Stara Zagora.
• 2011 is enrolled as a full-time doctoral student at the Department of Surgery, Neurosurgery, Urology of the Medical Faculty at the Thracian University.
• 2014 won a competition for an assistant at the Department of Surgery, Neurosurgery, Urology and was employed at the Clinic of Surgical Diseases at the University Hospital "Prof. Dr. Stoyan Kirkovich" AD.
• 2015 defended a dissertation on "Evaluation of prognostic indices determining therapeutic behavior in patients with acute pancreatitis" and acquired ONS Doctor of General Surgery.
• 2017 was awarded the prize of BMA Young Doctor of the Year "You are our future".
• 2018 was habilitated as "chief assistant" at the Department of Surgical Diseases and Anesthesiology at the Medical Faculty of the Thracian University of Stara Zagora.

Dr. Minkov's interests are in the field of clinical oncology and complex behavior in building a therapeutic approach in emergency surgery.

• 2013-2017 - passes a course in conventional and intraoperative ultrasound in Varna.
• 2013 - passed a Pedagogical course for additional qualification at the Faculty of Pedagogy at the Thracian University of Stara Zagora.
• 2014 - Course in colorectal surgery - 6th International Colorectal Course "Colorectal Games" June 2014 athens Greece.
• 2014 - Course in Liver Surgery-Advanced Course on the Management of Colorectal Liver metastases 2014 Bordeaux France- ESSO
• 2017 - Passed a course in laparoscopic surgery at the Military Medical Academy - Sofia.
• 2017 - Passed a course in health management for managers of medical institutions in the Military Medical Academy Hospital - Sofia.

Dr. Minkov is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Association, the European Pancreatic Club, and the European Society of Surgical Oncology.

He is currently working as an intensively developing young specialist in the team of the Clinic of Surgical Diseases of the University Hospital "Prof. Dr. Stoyan Kirkovich" AD, Stara Zagora.

He has been working at the HBO Medical Support Center since May 1, 2018.
